Resuscitation!

My blog's just 1 month shy of being inactive for a full year! Man, to think I was so full of hope for the future of this blog when I started it in 2005. How foolish I was to think the world could inspire in me the desire to ponder and discuss and put forth a view on the state of current affairs... well, that fool has now been resuscitated and I start the new 2006 with renewed vigour to spew forth my thoughts (innane or otherwise).

What triggered this renaissance?

Many things actually...

  1. Freedom of press vs plain common sense to be polite to other people (from furore and now, deaths, resulting from Danish cartoon of Prophet Muhammad)
  2. Guilty verdict for a Singaporean housewife whose maid accidentally fell to her death when instructed to climb out on a ledge to hang baby mittens on bamboo poles; the housewife's mother-in-law is the main supervisor of the maid and it was the grande dame who gave the instructions
  3. Recent purchase of Fiona Apple's "Extraordinary Machine"
  4. Housing loan grief
  5. etc.

and with this introduction, I begin my blog revival...
